On July 25th, the first Guangdong Foshan Nonferrous Metals (Aluminum) Industry Innovation and Development Forum was held in Foshan, Guangdong. At the meeting, Liu Qiuli, Secretary General of the Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, introduced that Shanghai is a major hub for China's non-ferrous metal trade and has formed a large-scale spot trading market for bulk commodities. By establishing and improving relevant systems that comply with bulk commodity trading, it has the functions of trading, settlement, and delivery in the international bulk commodity market. Lei Jianmin, General Manager of Guangdong Nonferrous Metals Trading Platform, introduced the innovative development of Guangdong Nonferrous Metals Platform and pointed out that Foshan, Guangdong is a major gathering place for the aluminum profile industry in China, and its industrial scale and completeness of the industrial chain are also at the forefront of the industry. Sun Yingmin, General Manager of Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Trading Center, introduced the innovative model of P+N, which has opened up the imagination of regional economic platform development and brought new opportunities for regional market linkage.
Subsequently, the Guangdong Nonferrous Metals Trading Platform and the Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Trading Center held a signing ceremony, and jointly discussed and constructed the "South China Aluminum Price" collection and publishing system for public release. The "South China Aluminum Price" was priced at 13880 yuan/ton per day.
It is reported that by drawing on the operational experience of Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Trading Center, Guangdong Nonferrous Metals Trading Platform and Shanghai Nonferrous Metals Trading Center jointly studied and demonstrated the collection and price formation system of "South China Aluminum Price". The release of aluminum prices in South China not only plays an important role in enhancing the discourse power of non-ferrous metal prices in the region, but also promotes the linkage of spot markets for non-ferrous metals in Shanghai and Guangdong, achieving coordinated development of the industry.
